{winter fun} holiday on the hills

This year we ventured one more time to Lasdon Park for their Holidays on the Hill Train Show. This time around Santa and Mrs. Claus made appearances at the Mansion to talk to and take pictures with the kids. Another new feature for this year was the Elf Adventure Tractor Ride, a ride through the woods looking for Santa's elves.

During our visit G didn't want to go talk to Santa. For some reason he was a little scared and I didn't want to force him. So after watching the trains display for a while we went outside for the tractor ride. G was really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was very cold and even though we were wearing hats and gloves, we were freezing the few minutes we were in line waiting so we decided to forgo the ride.
We couldn't enjoy the ride but we definitely enjoyed some hot coco which was perfect to keep us warm and apparently give us energy to start running around despite the cold weather.

This may not be a huge production like the NYBG Train show but we think it's cute and the grounds are beautiful so we enjoy going there. As I already mentioned it this was our second year and I can see it becoming one of our family holiday traditions.
